Foot Locker has appointed Melody Ehsani, founder of the Ehsani streetwear brand, to be the first creative director for its women’s segment. Ehsani designed a capsule for Foot Locker’s “12 Days of Greatness” campaign in December. The Air Jordan 1 Mid Fearless sneaker she designed in 2019 sold out in under two minutes upon launch in November of that year. Originally priced at $130, it resells for about $1,200. Ehsani will now be designing quarterly capsule collections of apparel and curating a selection of Nike and Jordan products. Her first capsule is scheduled for release this summer and will sell online, in Foot Locker stores in the U.S. and Canada, and in certain Foot Locker stores in Europe and Asia-Pacific. Meanwhile, Foot Locker is crowd-sourcing consumer feedback in New York and Los Angeles to scout locations for Melody Ehsani x Foot Locker pop-ups, which will be opening a week before the first capsule’s release.
