Nike has promoted Felicia Mayo from vice president of human resources to chief talent, diversity & culture officer, to replace Kellie Leonard. In the past year, as we have reported, there have been a number of complaints against Nike over lack of diversity and unequal pay in management – a lawsuit filed by current and former employees is under way – and over ill treatment of female athletes in its now-defunct Oregon Project. Mayo’s hiring adds a black woman to the company’s management team. Mayo spent about two years at Tesla as vice president of human resources and head of diversity and held a similar post for nine years at Juniper Networks. She has also worked in HR for Oracle and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
