Puma has appointed Maria Valdes as the new general manager of its Sportstyle unit, the company’s largest business unit by revenues. She replaces Reinhard Dischner, who will leave Puma at the end of the year after 18 years with the company. Dischner will stay on until then to ensure a smooth transition, said Puma. Valdes, 36, has been with Puma for ten years. Most recently, she worked as senior head of product line management for footwear in the same Sportstyle unit, which she will now run. Prior to joining Puma, she worked at L’Oréal and Inditex with roles in product development and marketing.
