Adidas has appointed a new global marketing director, Vicky Free. She will take up the new role in the position of senior vice president at the company’s head office in Herzogenaurach on Jan. 4, reporting to Brian Grevy, executive board member of the group responsible for global brands. As Adidas put it in confirming a press report, Free has over 20 years of experience in leading omni-channel teams in the delivery of “powerful” campaigns at large global brands such as Walt Disney, McDonald’s, Time Warner and Viacom that are “data-driven, insights inspired and producing strong ROI” (return on investment). She will have the responsibility to lead Adidas’ “commercial and brand success through developing and delivering compelling brand stories.” Leaving a job as chief marketing officer of Novant Health, she will replace Jocelyn Robiot, who has become a shareholder and the chief executive of a Berlin-based start-up, Betterguards, which claims to have developed a revolutionary new component, integrated in the shoe, to protect the ankle and prevent injuries.
