Fiona Laird has been appointed executive vice president and chief human resources and communications officer at Newell Brands, the new company formed by the recent merger of Jarden Corp. into Newell Rubbermaid. Laird, who started as a lawyer in the U.S., has worked for Unilever in various parts of the world over the past 25 years. Most recently, she was based in London as executive vice president of human resources, for global categories, marketing, communications and R&D. Since 2013, she has also served as non-executive director on the board of the U.K.-based N Brown Group.
