Fischer has appointed Jan Weiss as its new chief of the alpine division. On Sept. 1, he switched from Salomon where the 37-year-old headed the French brand's division in charge of skis and bindings for about seven years. At the Austrian ski company, he has taken on his new job from Franz Föttinger, chief executive, who additionally held the position on an interim basis for a while after the departure of Gerhard Wiesner. On top of Weiss' appointment, Fischer has announced the creation of two new positions that are set to create synergies between the sales of alpine and Nordic products: New head of international sales is Stephan Rossberger, who served as key account manager and international sales manager for both Nordic and alpine products. He will be assisted by Daniel Mühlbacher in the role of a key account manager for both segments. Most recently, Mühlbacher served as category manager for Nordic sports at Amer Sports, the parent company of Salomon and Atomic.
