Fitbit finally presented its Ionic smartwatch, ready for delivery from October and priced in the U.S. at $299.50, about $30 more than the original Series 1 Apple Watch, getting the company's battered share price to move up by 6.5 percent. The device is an improved version of Fitbit's PurePulse heart-rate monitor that also has an SpOn sensor to measure blood oxygen saturation. It is waterproof and comes with a GPS, multiple sport-specific exercise modes, smartphone notifications, the Fitbit Pay application and a Bluetooth music player. Like its arm bands, it has a four-day battery life, much longer than the Apple Watch. While Apple originally teamed up in the sector with Nike for its Nike+ application, Fitbit has chosen to team up with Adidas on a special edition of the Ionic coming out in 2018.
