Fjällräven has taken on Jerry Engström as its new marketing manager. The 30-year old recruit was the former Nordic brand manager at Unilever for Flora margarine, after having worked at the multinational for a variety of its brands over about six years. He replaces Lars-Ola Brolinson who is promoted to marketing and sales manager for all the brands grouped under Fenix Outdoor. The company has just launched its online sales website, which it intends to push as a virtual shop-in-shop option for retailers. There is also talk at the company of starting up a joint venture with a Chinese company in China. Officials have said that plans will be made more official after showing at ISPO China at the end of February. The group’s long-time collaborator in China, Jin Quan Travel Goods, manufactures sleeping bags and tents for Fjällräven (and Hanwag) and is currently the most likely candidate.
