Following an extensive global search, Billabong International has selected Jim Howell to be its new chief financial officer, replacing Peter Myers who has been in the role since January 2013, starting on June 12. Noting that Myers played a key role in its reorganization, the company said the change was designed to give the CFO greater oversight over the group's operational management. Howell spent the last ten years running the finance and treasury division of Nordstrom, the U.S. department store chain, where he played a key role in the implementation of its omnichannel retailing strategy. Myers has agreed to accompany the transition in the next few months.
