Footwear News reports that a Chinese manufacturer is accusing Adidas of breaching its obligations by abruptly ending their partnership. This comes after the German sports company decided to close down its apparel factory in Suzhou, which was its only factory in China, and to end contracts with five suppliers in the country. An executive at Shanghai Manlang Textile was quoted as saying that it had an agreement with Adidas lasting until 2015, and that the German group had not respected the notice of six months required to terminate the deal. She added that Shanghai Manlang Textile might take legal action if the two parties failed to reach an agreement on compensation. However, Adidas said that it had given fair and proper notice of the termination.
