For the past few months, Salewa has been busy setting up its new Salewa USA subsidiary in Boulder, Colorado, where the company will begin directly handling distribution of some of its brands in the country. Life-Link, an American company that sells back-country equipment, will continue all shipping, ordering and customer service for Salewa’s Dynafit brand at its main offices in Wyoming for the 2006/07 season. Orders for the subsequent seasons will be handled by the new Salewa USA office, which is still hiring personnel. The Salewa brand is currently being sold to only a few retailers in the USA directly from the company’s office in Germany, but this will change from the Winter 2007/08 season as Salewa USA will take over the distribution. Silvretta, which is now being distributed in the States by Garmont, will also soon be sold through Salewa USA.
