Franz Saurer has become sales manager for the new Red Bull Racing Eyewear line of sports eyewear and sunglasses, responsible for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia. The 49-year-old has worked for 15 years with Safilo Group, most recently as its country manager for Austria. He was involved with its Carrera and Smith brands, among others. Marketed in the optical and sports retail circuits, the Red Bull Racing Eyewear line was first launched by the Austrian-based Michael Pachleitner Group at the Silmo fair in Paris last September. It was also shown at the last Ispo fair in Munich. Sebastian Vettel, two-time Formula One world champion, and his teammate Mark Webber are endorsing the range.
