Fulvio Matteoni, a 46-year-old Italian manager who has worked for Décathlon in Italy in various positions since its first Italian store opened at Lissone in 1993, is the new Italian country manager for the chain. He takes the place of Philippe Debray, a veteran of the company who has been in the job since 2003. Debray, 45, has returned to France to help the international manager of the chain, Dominique Thomas, to handle Décathlon’s development in Eastern Europe, the Balkan peninsula and Turkey. Debray, who is now 45, previously worked for the company in France, Spain and Argentina. Another Décathlon veteran previously stationed in Brazil, François De Witte, is assisting Thomas in the company’s development in Northern Europe and Asia.
