Fusalp, a once famous French brand of technical skiwear, has opened the first single-brand store in partnership with a retailer in Annecy, where the brand was born in 1952. The concept should be rolled at five more locations in 2006, 15 in 2007 and 35 in 2008 if everything goes well. Reports indicate that Fusalp reached a net profit margin of 5 percent on stable sales of €15 million last year, with hiking/trekking clothes for the summer representing now 35 percent of the turnover. Like Degré 7, the French brand would like to do more outside France.
