Futbol Emotion, one of Spain's top retail chains for the sport of football, has named Iván Abad Iglesias as its chief executive. The appointment took effect on Sept. 2. Javier Sánchez Broto – the chain's founder and a former professional football player, with the Real Zaragoza, Villareal, Málaga, Airdie, Celtic, Getafe and Hércules clubs – will continue as chairman of the board. Carlos Sánchez Broto, his younger brother, will continue as general manager, keep his seat on the board and support the new CEO. Iglesias was most recently CEO of the app developer Wemuse, which he helped found. He has also served as an external advisor to the board of Grupo Brownie, chief retail officer of Motocard and director of product management and pricing for Mango, with other posts at AKI Bricolaje, Decathlon and ACS, a subsidiary of Xerox. At Futbol Emotion, Iglesias will be focusing on expansion plans, especially abroad.
