Garry Cook has been promoted by Nike from international general manager to president of the Jordan brand, replacing Larry Miller who became president of the Portland Trail Blazers team last June. The 12-year-old Cook has been with Nike for almost 12 years. Among other tasks, he has been UK sales manager, regional apparel sales director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and general manager of team sports in the USA. He recently developed a 5-year plan to raise sales of the Jordan brand in Europe and Asia. Nike has just introduced a limited series of very expensive Jordan basketball shoes that conform to the company’s Considered program of sustainability. The series is called Jordan XXIII to mark the 23rd anniversary of the Jordan brand.
