Gene McCarthy has resigned from his position as Under Armour's senior vice president for footwear, joining a string of high-level executives who have left the company in recent times. Analysts point out that although McCarthy brought steady progress to Under Armour's footwear program, such progress may not have kept pace with the company's internal targets for the development of its footwear line. Under Armour's top sourcing executive, Janet Fox, resigned from her post in August, replaced in her duties by the company's chief supply chain officer, Jim Hardy. Last May, Dan Sewall, vice president for retail, exited as well. Stuart Redsun, the senior vice president for global marketing, left in July after less than a year with the company, while Mark Dowley, Under Armour's former international chief, resigned from his role in April 2011 after four months.
