Gianni Crespi, 56, is reportedly going to act as the new chief executive and vice chairman of Basicnet from next May, when the company's chairman and founder, Marco Boglione, will turn 60. Basicnet, which is the parent company of Kappa, Robe di Kappa, K-Way and Superga, is not confirming or denying the report. Crespi, who has been sitting on Basicnet's board of directors since 2007, would take the place of Franco Spalla upon his retirement on reaching the age of 63 next April. After managing Walt Disney Co.'s Italian subsidiary, Crespi ran a couple of publishing houses. Spalla has been running Basicnet for almost 15 years.
