Giant Bicycles plans to invest more in manufacturing rims for bicycles, e-bikes and motorcycles this year. Through its subsidiary Giant Light Metal Technology, the company started shipping motorcycle rims in the second half of last year and expects orders to grow in 2012. It is putting €5.2-7.8 million into the plant in Jiangsu province, China. Giant also plans to increase capacity at some of its other facilities: The plant in Tianjin should grow to produce 3 million bikes per year, and in 2013 the Chengdu factory's capacity is expected to double to 600,000 units.
