Giovanni Maruzzi, 35, has left Nike to become the first country manager of Brooks Running for Italy and Spain. After working for Vodafone and Procter & Gamble, Maruzzi spent the last three years at Nike's Italian subsidiary as sales manager in the running category and as strategic accounts manager. Brooks' sales in Italy have been growing nicely since the company took over the distribution from an agent in 2010 through a sales and marketing team that was reporting to its European office, which has moved from Germany to the Netherlands. As reported earlier this year, Brooks has taken over the distribution in Spain and appointed a country manager for France, Franck Mesnage. These and other country managers now report to Hamish Stewart, who is leading the charge for sales, marketing and customer services for all of Brooks' operations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
