Gliss'Expo will be the new name of the action sports fair due to be held at Seignosse, on the French Basque coast, from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. The fair is organized by Alain Sevellec, who co-founded the former Glissexpo action sports fair in 1990. Held until 2002 on the neighboring beach of Anglet and in Paris, Glissexpo had managed to attract up to 1,200 brands and 20,000 people. Sevellec relaunched the show last year under the very French name of Salon des Glisseurs with some 300 brands. The number of trade visitors peaked on Monday during the show with nearly 500 professionals. Attendance by the general public peaked on Sunday at nearly 6,000 visitors. Sevellec wants to position Gliss'Expo as a more nautical and hardware-oriented alternative to Ispo, allowing surf specialists to test new products on the sea.
