Globe is unveiling the Globe Speaker Board (GSB), which it claims to be the first skateboard with a built-in speaker, to provide riders with freedom from headphones and the possibility of creating the soundtrack for their ride. The GSB works with any Bluetooth-enabled smart device. Following two years of testing, Globe has developed two skateboards - the GSB Blazer (mini-cruiserboard) and the GSB Pinner (longboard) - in collaboration with Boombotix, a San-Francisco based consumer electronics brand that designs ultra-portable audio and works directly with artists and athletes. The GSB speaker integrates a 50mm driver and passive radiator so as to make riders feel bass under their feet. The speaker is encased in a water-resistant unit.
