The total number of Intersport stores grew last year by ten in France and Belgium to a total of 660 units, including 247 stores located in mountain resorts, and 113 of them were moved to new and generally bigger locations. Their combined sales floors rose by 45,000 square meters to a total of about 800,000 m² and an additional 62,000 m² are in the pipeline for this year through the establishment of 18 new stores and the move or renovation of 46 existing ones. The area of the new stores averages 3,000 m², close to Decathlon standards. The chain's biggest store opened in April on 3,700 m² at Noyelles-Godault, and a store of more than 4,000 m² is in the works at another as yet undisclosed location.

The retail members of Intersport France also run some stores that they have set up under two different banners: 30 Blackstone units and 17 stores trading as The Athlete's Foot. As a streetwear banner, Blackstone is making more progress with 18 new stores planned for 2019.
