Golf House, the German golf retailer that was sold by Karstadt to an investment group in mid-1995, has expanded its flagship store in Düsseldorf to 830 square meters. Meanwhile Karstadt is linking up its internet site, Karstadt.de, with mygolf.de, described as the best known German website in the golf sector. A subsection of Golf.de, mygolf.de is a portal operated by Deutsche Golf Online, a partner of the German Golf Federation. The number of registered golf players in Germany rose by 4.9 percent last year to 506,746, passing the half-million mark for the first time.
