Golf House, the German specialty chain, is reportedly for sale. SGI Europe hears that Arques, the majority shareholder, intends to sell its stake this year. A spokesperson at Arques did not want to comment, but noted that it is general practice for a private equity investor to acquire and sell companies. Arques bought Golf House from Karstadt Quelle, which is today named Arcandor, in 2005. Simultaneously it bought from Quelle the camping and outdoor chain Fritz Berger. Golf House’s sales were €23.5 million in 2007.
