Golf Ireland, the governing body for golf in Ireland, has launched its Sustainability Action Plan “Drive the Green” for 2024 to 2027. Golf Ireland assists the 379 affiliated golf clubs cross the country on their sustainability journey, both on and off the golf course. The new action plan is designed to help clubs advance sustainability in an efficient, practical and effective way, said Golf Ireland. The plan urges all stakeholders in golf, including members, staff, partners, facilities, manufacturers, media, and event promoters, to actively engage to fostering a more sustainable future.

The action plan was designed with a team of sustainability experts, including ecologists Anja Murray and Alan Lauder, along with GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf, the Association of Turfgrass Professionals Ireland (ATPI), decarbonisation consultant Jim Young, and sustainability advisor Gráinne Kelliher.
