Golfbuddy unveiled two new products at the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida. The developer of distance measuring devices (DMDs) for golfers presented the BB4 Band, the world's first golf GPS wristband, and the PT4 Handheld, a superfast 4'' touchscreen handheld device. Both products are due to be launched this year. The BB4, which will be available in black or white, is slimmer and lighter than a GPS watch. Its light-up display shows the distance to the front, center and back of the green and also includes a time mode. The device also measures shot distance in meters or yards. The BB4 band comes pre-loaded with more than 37,000 courses worldwide and features automatic course and hole recognition. The PT4 feels like a smartphone in the hand, being just 16mm thin, namely around 42 percent slimmer than GolfBuddy's own current flagship handheld device. The capacitive screen of the PT4 delivers mobile smartphone levels of speed and responsiveness when touched. Light taps and swipe gestures are recognized immediately by the screen, allowing the golfer to get instant distances to any point on any color overhead hole layout. GolfBuddy is a corporate partner with the PGAs of Europe as its “official handheld GPS rangefinder.”
