Head has reportedly teamed up with B.C. Sports for the distribution of its winter sports products in China, starting from the coming winter season. B.C. Sports is a leading Chinese distributor in the outdoor sports category, which built up the Northland, Lowa and Leki brands in China, and acquired trademark rights for the Halti brand in Greater China last year. Steve Huang, founder and chief executive of B.C. Sports, told Ispo.com that his company wanted to diversify into the winter sports business. The deal was announced last month at Ispo Beijing, where Peter Schott, Head's general manager for international trade, said he wanted Head to become the leading ski brand in China. Head was distributed in previous years by Beijing Mas Ski Equipment, which said two years ago it was selling about 2,000 pairs of Head skis per year.
