Head Sportswear has built up its own sportswear team, based in London, to focus more sharply on this product group. Head's license agreement for sportswear in Europe expired in 2010, prompting the group to launch its own tennis and skiwear ranges for Europe the next year. Sales of Head sportswear reached €5.6 million in 2011, but they shrank by more than 30 percent in the first nine months of 2012. The enlarged team is meant to support the business more strongly this year. Sylvie d'Azemar, formerly at Nike and then head of Salomon apparel, already joined Head Sportswear as vice president in charge of product and marketing last August. Konstantina Voulimenea switched from Ellesse (at the Pentland group) in September to head marketing and communications for Head Sportswear. Then Melanie Festor switched from Killy in October to become product line director for Head's skiwear. Oliver Hubbard, previously at Nike, holds the same position for tennis apparel.
