Henri Lloyd, the British producer of marine apparel, is to start using the Eco Circle recycling program of Teijin Fibers of Japan. Eco Circle is a recycling system for polyester using chemical recycling technology; it is the first time such technology has been used for marine apparel. Henri Lloyd will use Teijin’s Eco Storm material to make its sailing clothes. Eco Storm is recyclable and recyclable, breathable, and waterproof. Once the customer has worn out the garment, he or she can return it to Henri Lloyd’s Blue Eco partners, who will in turn send it back to Teijin’s plant in Japan. The old clothes will undergo chemical decomposition, converted into polyester raw material and that into Eco Circle fibers, and then new apparel will be made.
