Herbert Hainer, chief executive and chairman of Adidas, is secure in his job for a while longer. His mandate, due to expire next year, was extended at the annual general meeting on May 7. He started with Adidas in 1987, and has headed up the board since March 2001. The length of his new contract was not released. Also at the meeting, Igor Landau was named chairman of the company’s supervisory board, replacing Hans Frederichs, who did not run for re-election. Sabine Bauer and Will Schwerdle were elected deputy chairpersons. New members named to the supervisory board include Herbert Kauffmann and Alexander Popov as shareholder representatives and Dieter Hauenstein and Wolfgang Jäger as employee representatives. Their terms expire in 2014.
