Hi-Tec Sports unveiled a full range of soccer shoes at STAG’s buying days near a golf course in Oxfordshire a few days ago. Meanwhile, the British company announced that Moonstar, a Japanese footwear company, will distribute its golf shoes in Japan, starting in 2007, in deal that is said to be long-term. Hi-Tec hasn’t outlined any sales goals for the country, but said in the medium-term it would like to gain market share on a par with its stance in other countries. For the golf category, Hi-Tec estimates that it is second in terms of market share in the UK, and dwells within the top five globally. In addition to Hi-Tec golf shoes, Moonstar distributes New Balance, Converse, Geox, K-Swiss and Kappa in Japan.
