IC Companys, the Danish-based parent company of Peak Performance and other sportswear brands, has appointed Mads Ryder as its new chief executive, describing him as an experience and international-oriented manager with talent and flair for trademarks and branding. The 50-year-old took over on Aug. 1 from Niels Mikkelsen, who has been in charge since August 2008. Ryder has been most recently the CEO of Royal Copenhagen, where results improved significantly after substantial changes implemented following his appointment in 2009. He previously acted as senior vice president of WeightWatchers, based in London. Prior to that he spent most of his career within the Lego Group, working in Denmark, the U.K., Japan, Korea and Germany. IC Companys was waiting for the new CEO before recruiting a new chief financial officer who will take the place of the outgoing CFO, Chris Bigler, by Oct. 31 at the latest.
