Ignasi Puig, general manager of Intersport España, was unanimously elected as a member of Intersport International Corporation's board of management at its annual general meeting in Ljubljana last month. He takes the place of Marco Giunta, who left earlier this year as chief executive of Italy's Cisalfa. Puig has been running the Spanish Intersport for more than 13 years, after working in other segments of the retail sector, especially in the do-it-yourself field. At the same time, Klaus Jost was confirmed chairman of IIC's board. Jussi Mikkola from Finland remains in his position of vice chairman of the board, whose other members are François Barriaud from France and Mikael Kold from Denmark.
