In a brief statement, Rip Curl announced that its board of directors has chosen Michael Daly to act as its chief executive from next July 1. He has worked for the Australian surf brand for 11 years, most recently as group chief financial officer and then as its chief operating officer. One of the founders, Brian Singer, had taken on the role of interim CEO following the resignation a few months ago of Olivier Cantet, who acted also as the company's European manager. He will continue to sit on the board of directors of the Australian group. Rip Curl added that it is not going to make any further comments on this stage.
