Insistent reports indicate that Adidas is close to taking over from Nike as the sponsor of Manchester United club in the U.K. for £60 million (€73.4m-$101m) a year, after its contract with the Swoosh expires in June 2015. Nike has rights of first refusal but is likely to pass on the opportunity. ManUnited announced last month the departure of its chief operating officer, Michael Bolingbroke, and the club's manager, David Moyes.
