Instead of extending a contract with Adidas, Naomi Osaka has preferred to sign a new sponsorship deal for footwear and apparel with Nike. Adidas had reportedly offered to pay between $8.5 million and $10 million per year for the Japanese tennis star, who beat Serena Williams at the U.S. Open last year. Currently ranked as the world's best tennis player, Osaka secured another victory in Australia in January.
