Intersport Espana is going to test out the concept of a store that will only sell the lifestyle ranges of clothing, footwear and accessories of three major sports brands. The first unit, which will probably carry the “Sportstreet” sign, is set to open in Barcelona in March or April, followed by 5 others in other parts of the country. If the formula goes well, the network would grow to about 40 units, ranging in size from 130 to 200 square meters, all owned by Intersport members. The Spanish cooperative is also planning to open its first factory outlet store under a different name in June, probably in the Madrid area, following a model already tested out by Intersport Schweiz.
