Intersport Eybl, the big Austrian sporting goods chain, is making it into Vorarlberg, the westernmost land in the country at the shores of Lake Constance. A new outlet is going to be built in Hohenems, where the doors will open to a 4,000 square meters. Based on market research, Eybl sees a market potential of some €87.6 million in turnover for sporting goods – which is big for one of Austria’s smallest Bundesländer with one of the biggest buying powers. This also due to the proximity of the region to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
