Intersport France has announced a deal with Olympique de Marseille, also known as OM, which ranks as the French football club that has the largest number of fans - a total of 14 million – and that sells the highest number of replica shirts – an average of 400,000 per season over the last two years. The shirts will continue to be supplied by Adidas, whose logo will still be featured on them, but starting next August and for the next two playing seasons, a joint OM-Intersport logo will replace that of Bet Clic, an online betting agency, on the front of the jerseys. Intersport has been a sponsor of the team for the past three years, but with a smaller linear logo in the back. The voluntary chain of sporting goods stores, which claims to have raised its market share in France last year, will have an integrated marketing package as part of its new contract with the OM, giving it more visibility on the pitch, on TV and in the printed and online media. The value of the contract has not been communicated.
