As part of its growth strategy, Intersport has announced restructured Category Management and International Supplier Management and Strategic Purchasing teams, including a new hire.
Tim Bielohoubeck is to be the new Head of International Supplier Management and Strategic Purchasing. Darius Zamani-Achtiani will join Intersport to head up the Category Management team.
Bielohoubeck joined Intersport in 1996 as a trainee and took up the position of Head of Category Management, Strategic Purchasing and Exclusive Brands in 2020, having previously held management roles in sales and purchasing as well as in product management.
Zamani-Achtiani began his career at Peek & Cloppenburg as a retail assistant, graduating to central buyer. He was responsible for budgets in the millions at TKMaxx and then rose to Head of Buying at Ebay. After holding positions as Director of Multibrands at the CBR Fashion Group and Division Head at the Tom Tailor Group, he has been working as a consultant since 2015, and as a partner at Kloepfel Consulting since 2018, specializing in purchasing and procurement.

“We want to achieve growth of over 5 per cent p.a. and grow faster than the market,” explained Frank Geisler, COO Intersport Deutschland. “We will achieve this through accelerated organic and inorganic growth as well as clear targets for sustainability […] Our industry partners are essential for our success.”
Geisler concluded: “The new Category Management and International Supplier Management and Strategic Purchasing teams will support our growth from summer 2023 in a new, more focused and even more powerful structure.”
