Intersport UK has formed a three-year partnership with parkrun UK, which organizes 375 free timed park runs of 5 kms each Saturday morning. The partnership between the retailer and the non-profit organization is to start at the beginning of next year. parkrun UK boasts about 1.3 million registered runners across the country and 8,000 volunteers to help organize the events, which also include 76 runs of 2 kms for juniors on Sundays. The deal ties in with Intersport's endeavors to support sport and physical activity in local communities. The retailer's investment will assist with the launch of new parkrun events while supporting existing event teams with essential kit. Meanwhile, Intersport will be providing exclusive offers to parkrun participants. parkrun started in London in 2004 but has since expanded to eleven countries, with more than two million registered runners.
