The organizers of Ispo have announced the winners and finalists of this year's Ispo BrandNew competition, which will be given free stands at Ispo Munich on Feb. 5-8, 2015. They were selected by an international jury after receipt of a record number of 431 applications

Onoo came put as the best overall brand and the overall winner. The Munich-based brand describes itself as a developer of windproof and rainproof clothing that looks modern and chic and can be worn while moving through the city on a bike. It uses loden wool with a teflon finish.

Wearable Life Science, also from Germany, won the Sportswear award, for a sports outfit with integrated electrodes, sensors, and a control unit that is said to provide great flexibility during a workout. Electrical muscle stimulation embedded in the clothing will enhance training, according to the company.

Hexo+ from France won the Accessories award. The company makes a drone, connected with the GPS function of a smartphone, that follows the skier or snowboarder, allowing aerial filming even in the most remote places.

The Hardware Summer Award went to Tentsile from England. Its tree tents can be pitched on the ground like traditional tents, or without ground contact between trees like a hammock, depending on the terrain.

Ice Rock from Kirov, in northern Russia, was awarded the Hardware Winter award. The company has developed an extremely lightweight ice axe made from carbon fiber for ski tourers, freeriders, climbers and other outdoor athletes. With a total weight of 188g, it is said to be the lightest ice axe of its class.

The Wheeler award went to Zehus from Italy. The company offers a kit that converts regular bikes into pedelecs. Bike+ is automatically activated during strenuous passages to assist the cyclist. The system does not need recharging from the grid since the energy is recovered during cycling and fed directly into the power pack. Furthermore, motor, batteries and sensors are all integrated in the lightweight hub that is mounted on the rear wheel.

In the other categories, Kraft & Ulrich from Germany won the Style award. Bragi from Denmark was the winner in the Digital category. The Headição charity project from Germany was the winner in the Social Awareness category.
