Jørgen Jørgensen, chief executive of Norrøna Sport, was recently awarded a prize as the Norwegian “Entrepreneur of the Year” for 2012 in the trade segment. The prize was awarded by Ernst & Young to Jørgensen for an impressive ability and unique competence for developing innovative products, establishing distribution channels and being one of the first companies in Europe to use Gore-Tex materials. The 39-year-old manager has headed the company since 2005. Norrøna's sales jumped by roughly 44 percent to 235 million Norwegian kroner (€32.1m-$41.5m) last year.
