Jack Nicklaus has unveiled his own line of golf balls. They will be manufactured by Bridgestone but stamped with his Golden Bear logo. Nicklaus, nicknamed “The Golden Bear” and the winner of a record 18 professional major championships, is widely regarded as the greatest golf champion of all time. Nicklaus is introducing three golf balls to accommodate three skill levels of player: the Nicklaus Black, designed for the single-digit handicap golfer who might typically play from the back tees; the Nicklaus Blue, for players who use middle teeing areas; and the Nicklaus White, for higher handicap players who play from forward tees. The balls are going into production this month and delivieries will start in November. Initially, the new balls will be sold exclusively online at www.nicklaus.com and through golf/pro shops at the more than 200 Nicklaus Design courses in the U.S. By buying these balls, players also get a chance to support charitable causes. A percentage from every golf ball sold in stores will be donated to the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation to help pediatric programs across the U.S., while visitors to nicklaus.com will be able to help the Foundation with voluntary contributions.
