Jack Wolfskin is partnering with Heightsport to expand in South America. The sales partnership covers Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. The first South American Jack Wolfskin store opened on July 13 on Lake Villarrica in Pucón, Chile. Pucón is a small town with just under 20,000 inhabitants but is one of the most popular destinations in South America for outdoor enthusiasts, with about 1.2 million visitors per year. Chile was chosen by the German brand as the doorway to the promising Latin American outdoor market due to its growing tourism industry. Jack Wolfskin's products will also be for sale at Heightsport's retail chain, which consists of 17 stores in Ecuador. In addition, the company plans to open shop-in-shops in several department store as well as mono-brand stores.
