In 2007, the outdoor brand entered four new markets: Romania, Ukraine, Poland, and China, where it found new sports retail customers and opened many franchised stores – two each in China and Romania, one in Ukraine and one in Poland. So far this year, Jack Wolfskin has already opened four more stores in China, another one in Romania and the first Czech store in Prague.
Jack Wolfskin intends to expand into other emerging markets in Central and Eastern Europe as well as in Asia. Russia is on top of the company´s agenda. In its traditional Central European markets, the brand opened new franchised stores, too. Last year, the number of locations in Germany grew by 27 to 144, while it doubled in Austria from six to 12.
