Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner became the first-ever player to carry a non-white luxury branded bag, as opposed to a bag from a technical sponsor, onto a Wimbledon court on July 3. Sinner is an ambassador for Gucci. The custom bag, created by the Italian fashion house with the player, featured the brand’s GG monogram as well as Sinner’s “JS” initials. The 21-year-old player had reportedly been authorized by the organizers. In addition to being the most historic and prestigious tournament in tennis, Wimbledon is traditionally known for its strict all-white dress code and formal style.

Last summer, the 20-year-old signed a $150 million deal with Nike for 10 years shortly before he added Gucci brand ambassador to his portfolio. Other sponsors include Rolex and Parmigiano Reggiano.
