Jarden Corp.’s Outdoor Solutions segment will have to wait until later this month before consolidating K2 and its various brands, yet it managed to post a 26 percent sales increase in the second quarter ended June 30 to $417.1 million, thanks to the acquisition of Pure Fishing and the introduction of new products. Organic growth was “restricted to specialty and international markets” during the period. The business delivered an operating margin of 12.4 percent, up from 10.9 percent in the same quarter of last year. Including the other segments in which it operates, Jarden boosted its total sales by 9 percent to $1.05 billion on a GAAP basis, with net income rising to $16.7 million from $13.3 million.
