JD Sports is among the companies targeted by The Investment Association, the trade body that represents U.K. investment managers, for failing to have enough women on their boards. The Investment Association and the Hampton-Alexander Review sent a letter to 69 of the FTSE 350 companies, asking them to outline what actions they are taking to make progress in this area. The letter was sent to companies who have no women or only one woman on their board, and follows the government-backed Hampton-Alexander Review, which set a target of ensuring women make up at least 33 percent of leadership teams by 2020. According to The Investment Association, one in five of the U.K.'s biggest firms currently fail to meet this target.
